After adding at least one DER, the scenario will be valid to save. Once saved, the scenario can be submitted for processing.
NOTE: once a scenario is submitted, it cannot be modified; however, a submitted scenario can be copied and the copy modified and submitted.
During processing, Keystone Designer determines the optimal combination of equipment to maximize the benefit of the proposed microgrid, balancing between the initial capital investment and the project savings over the 20-year lifetime. During this analysis, Keystone Designer considers a multi-year analysis of all equipment selected as optimal, including:
Inputs for all of these are available within the advanced settings areas both at the scenario and equipment levels. Some of these settings are read-only as they are specified by the equipment manufacturer, but other settings, though set to defaults that reflect Fortress Power's experience in the industry, can be customized per optimization run.
NOTE: because of the advanced analysis required, scenarios can take 30 minutes or more to process. Once a scenario has been processed, an email with a link to the results is sent to the user who submitted the scenario for processing.
